National Digital Health Mission (NDHM) has launched HealthID scheme for every citizen in India. The decision taken by government of India is a big initiative for an interconnected digital healthcare future. Every patient who wants their medical records to be available digitally must first create a Health ID. Each HealthOne Health ID will be linked to a health data consent manager (such as NDHM), which will be used to obtain the patient's approval and ensure that health information from the Personal Health Records module flows seamlessly.
In simple Language a health ID:
HealthOne HealthID is unique in nature, like any other identification.
Will act as a storehouse for all your health records, and related information.
is highly secure and you decide with whom you share your data with.
Your Aadhar linkage is voluntary (Not mandatory)
Your health Id is unique in nature, like any ID It is created using your general/basic information and your mobile number or Aadhar number (voluntary). You can link all your health records to this ID, also you have the option of creating multiple IDs if you wish to segregate your information in different groups, although not recommended.
A health ID is a convenient place to store all your health records and related data. This way you can provide all the relevant information to your medical practitioner/doctor beforehand, making sure that no relevant or important piece of information is missed before starting off with the treatment.
Your HealthOne health ID is secure and granting access to it is your hands. Each health ID will be linked to a health data consent manager; your consent will be required before sharing any piece of information. You command full authority over the amount of information you want to share each time, and with whom you want to share it with.
As per the information available on the government's panel, it is clearly stated that Aadhar linkage is optional and is not a mandatory requirement for obtaining a health ID. Obviously you can voluntarily link it with your health ID if you choose to.
